I see familiar faces
And hear familiar songs
Realize these unfamiliar places
Have been here all along.
I know this is like, the smallest sneak peek ever… but consider this your sneak peek at my next novel.

I’m working on a new book.
It has a title. I’ve told a few people the title, it’s probably around Facebook somewhere.
People ask me frequently when the new book is coming out, and I wish I had an answer. I wish I could say today, tomorrow, next week, three months from now- I wish I had a date set in stone, but the truth is I don’t yet.
The draft isn’t finished. I’m still working on drafting everything so I can get this all right. I believe in this book and I believe in it a lot and so I want to do it justice by putting in the time and energy I feel it deserves.
If writing this scene is making me cry, then I must be doing SOMETHING right… right?!
I’m working on another book; a novel again.
It’s exciting, especially since after a year of writing scenes here and there things are finally starting to shape up into the story I’ve been wanting to write.
It won’t be announced for awhile, but I will make a big deal when it is. :)
Some of you may know that once upon a time I used to post some of my fiction on the internet on various websites. I’m in the process now of deleting a bunch of old stories- things that, honestly, I don’t want the public to see anymore because they don’t reflect who I am as a writer right now (I still have PDFs of everything, though, so if you’re REALLY interested in reading some old stuff, send me a message).
So I went through and decided to add up the reads that some of my stories have received over the years on various websites.
Between a handful of stories, dozens of chapters, and hundreds of thousands of words, and posting on a few different websites, everything I’ve written has received a total of 130,394 reads.
One-hundred thirty thousand, three hundred ninety-four.
That is insane. I mean it’s absolutely insanity to me to think about the number because I’ve been putting my heart and soul into this more than anything else for the past eight years, and it’s crazy to think how many people have read something I’ve written.
I don’t think words quite describe the feeling.
The sound quality was mediocre at best and all of the lights in the room- save for the tiny fluorescent bulbs over the stage- were turned off during the sets. The room was too hot and smelled like a mix of pizza, sweat, and cheap beer. It was actually kind of disgusting.
Yet something about the grime was unusually comforting.
Or at least makes one person say, “That changed my life.”
I want this book to make people think. I want people to finish reading it and think about how maybe they relate to bits and pieces of it, or a character reminds them of someone they know. I want people to be inspired when they finish it- inspired to hug someone, inspired to thank someone, inspired to go out and do something.
I want people to laugh when they read this. I want people to cry. I want people to experience a million different emotions, but most importantly I want them to feel things and I want the emotions to be intense.
With that being said…
